We are seeking a Project Accountant to provide financial support and insight across a portfolio of moderately complex projects. Working under general supervision, you will collaborate closely with project managers, operational teams and finance colleagues to support effective financial management and informed decision-making throughout the project lifecycle. This role would suit an analytical and detail-oriented finance professional who can manage complex financial information while maintaining a clear understanding of the wider commercial and operational context.
Key responsibilities include:
- Providing project accounting support across moderately complex projects.
- Preparing accurate and timely financial reports, analyses and forecasts.
- Reviewing financial results and providing clear recommendations based on identified trends and findings.
- Partnering with project managers and operational stakeholders to support effective financial and commercial decision-making.
- Maintaining complete and accurate financial records in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles and internal requirements.
- Monitoring project financial performance and identifying potential risks, issues and opportunities.
- Performing financial audits and reviews to support compliance, accuracy and effective financial control.
- Preparing ad hoc and specialist financial reports to meet business requirements.
- Applying professional accounting principles and concepts in a consistent, practical and effective manner.
- Identifying and delivering process improvements that enhance accuracy, efficiency and service quality.
- Collaborating extensively with operational teams and colleagues across an international, matrixed organisation.
We are looking for someone who can demonstrate:
- A bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, Engineering or a related discipline.
- Approximately four to five years of relevant project accounting experience, ideally gained within a multinational organisation.
- Experience working in a complex, fast-paced and international business environment.
- Fluency in English and at least one additional language.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- The ability to manage detailed financial information while understanding the broader commercial and operational picture.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain financial information clearly to different stakeholders.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities effectively.
- A proactive approach to identifying and implementing continuous improvement initiatives.
- Experience collaborating closely with operational teams and a broad range of stakeholders.
- A consistent commitment to accuracy, integrity and high-quality delivery.
