Program Financial Analyst Government Contracting

Overview

Cherry Bekaert Recruiting & Staffing is partnering with a growing organization in the aerospace/defense sector seeking a Program Finance Analyst to support program financials, forecasting, and reporting.

This role is ideal for a finance professional with experience in government contracting who thrives in a data-driven environment supporting program managers and leadership with actionable financial insights.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and support Estimate at Completion (EAC), forecasting, and budgeting activities
• Analyze program financial performance, including variance analysis and trend identification
• Provide financial data and reporting for internal business reviews and leadership decision-making
• Monitor key performance indicators and investigate drivers of unexpected variances
• Support program setup, maintenance, and contract closeout activities
• Deliver ad hoc financial analysis and reporting as needed
• Ensure financial reporting aligns with GAAP standards and compliance requirements

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field
• 2+ years of experience in Program Finance, FP&A, or Accounting
• Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting principles
• Experience with government contract types: FFP, CPFF, T&M
• Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, formulas, lookups)
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
• U.S. Citizenship required; ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience in aerospace and/or defense (GovCon) environment
• Experience with ERP systems (Microsoft Business Central a plus)
• Exposure to Power BI or other reporting/BI tools
