Procurement Specialist

Job Title: Buyer II
Location: Merrit Island, FL (Onsite)
Contract Duration: Through June 1, 2026 (with possibility of extension and/or conversion to perm)

About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced Buyer II to join our operations and procurement team. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional with strong negotiation, supplier management, and purchasing experience, particularly in fast-paced and technically driven industries. You will play a key role in coordinating purchasing activities, managing supplier relationships, and ensuring timely delivery of materials critical to program success.

Key Responsibilities:

• Coordinate the purchasing of materials, services, and products to meet program requirements.

• Collaborate with program leads to identify long-lead materials and support sourcing decisions.

• Prepare and process purchase orders using Coupa and Costpoint software.

• Manage supplier orders, monitor backlog, track order status, and adjust schedules as needed.

• Partner with logistics to ensure cost-effective and timely deliveries.

• Ensure compliance with purchasing, storage, and transportation requirements.

• Monitor supplier performance and prepare reports for leadership review.

• Resolve discrepancies related to purchasing, delivery, receiving, invoices, and supplier payments.

• Expedite materials for shortage management and coordinate returns for discrepant materials.

• Drive continuous improvement initiatives across the supply chain.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or a related field.

• 5+ years of tactical-level purchasing experience.

• Aerospace/defense industry experience preferred.

• APICS, CPM, CPSM, or CSCP certification is a plus.

• Strong skills in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).

• Experience with ERP systems (Coupa, Costpoint preferred).

• Excellent organizational, communication, and negotiation skills.

• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities.
