Procurement Manager

ABOUT THE JOB

The Procurement Manager supports engineering and manufacturing teams with the development and execution of sourcing strategy. As the procurement lead, this individual will be responsible for managing a team of buyers and working closely with Product Sourcing Engineers to maintain supplier relationships, negotiate pricing, and ensure parts are delivered on time. This role serves as a critical bridge between the buying team and technical stakeholders — enabling buyers to execute effectively while partnering with Product Sourcing Engineers on supplier selection, cost convergence, and supply network development. They will work with the broader Supply Chain team to support strategic sourcing initiatives and planning in pursuit of manufacturing goals.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Manage, mentor, and develop a team of buyers, setting priorities, balancing workloads, and ensuring the buying team has the tools, training, and supplier context needed to execute purchase orders accurately and on time
• Partner with Product Sourcing Engineers to align on supplier selection, cost targets, and make-vs-buy decisions, translating their strategic sourcing direction into day-to-day procurement execution
• Coordinate with Product Sourcing Engineers during NPI phases to ensure procurement timelines, supplier qualifications, and BOM readiness support production ramp schedules
• Lead cross-functional projects to achieve cost, quality, and delivery targets
• Monitor and report key performance indicators in regard to performance to plan, surfacing risks and bottlenecks to the buying team and sourcing engineers early
• Support engineering and manufacturing to determine best sources, working alongside Product Sourcing Engineers to validate supplier capabilities
• Identify and execute cost reduction projects in collaboration with sourcing engineers and the buying team
• Negotiate commercial terms with suppliers
• Analyze supplier data and identify areas of opportunity for expanding and/or consolidating the Approved Supplier List (ASL)
• Conduct research, benchmark, and collect market data to ensure a best-in-class supply base
• Place purchase orders and resolve downstream issues with receiving, finance, and accounting
• Maintain procurement-related master data in the ERP system
• Own the procurement process cradle-to-grave, from sourcing through delivery and payment

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Supply Chain, or related discipline
• 5+ years of supply chain experience in progressive roles
• Experience with technical procurement
• Effective written, verbal, and presentation skills
• Ability to read drawings and blueprints
• Exceptional analytical and organizational skills
• Familiarity with leading ERP systems

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience managing or leading a team of buyers or procurement professionals, with a track record of developing talent and driving team performance
• Experience partnering closely with sourcing engineers or technical stakeholders to execute supply chain strategy
• Deeper experience within:
  • Strategic sourcing and supplier development
  • Cost engineering and should-cost modeling
  • Contract negotiation and commercial risk management
  • NPI procurement support and BOM management
• Familiarity with procurement in a defense or highly regulated environment
• Experience working in a high-mix, low-volume manufacturing environment
• Exposure to working in a fast-paced, start-up environment
• Eligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance

US Salary Range

$130,000 - $210,000 USD

The salary range for this role is an estimate based on a wide range of compensation factors, inclusive of base salary only. Actual salary offer may vary based on (but not limited to) work experience, education and/or training, critical skills, and/or business considerations.
