Procurement and Purchasing Lead – Fabrication Management
Description
As the purchaser, you will play a vital role in ensuring that our projects remain on schedule and within budget by sourcing high-quality materials and services. This position demands strong negotiation skills, attention to detail, and the ability to analyze market trends to make informed purchasing decisions. You will work closely with project managers, vendors, and other stakeholders to develop and maintain strong working relationships that facilitate seamless transactions. In this fast-paced environment, you will be responsible for evaluating supplier performance, managing inventory levels, and implementing procurement strategies that align with our organizational goals.
Responsibilities

Develop and implement procurement strategies to optimize purchasing processes and reduce costs.
Manage relationships with suppliers, ensuring quality, cost-effectiveness, and timely delivery of materials.
Conduct market research to identify potential suppliers and keep informed on industry trends and changes.
Negotiate contracts and terms of sale with suppliers to secure the best prices and favorable conditions.
Collaborate with project managers to determine material requirements and ensure alignment with project timelines.
Monitor supplier performance and conduct regular evaluations to maintain quality standards.
Oversee inventory management, ensuring adequate stock levels while minimizing waste and excess inventory.

Skills and Education

Fabrication procurement experience 5+ years (Service center, Domestic mills and foreign mills.)
Proficient in Tekla Powerfab Microsoft excel, and office products
Foreign mill experience,
Strong leadership skills
Team management experience
Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain management, or a related field.
Proven experience as a Purchasing Manager or similar role in the construction industry.
Strong negotiation and communication skills with the ability to build relationships with suppliers.
Knowledge of procurement software and tools, as well as Microsoft Office Suite proficiency.
Analytical mindset with excellent problem-solving abilities.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
Strong understanding of relevant regulations and compliance requirements in the construction industry.
