Summary of Essential Functions and Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end procurement activities, including supplier pre-qualification, tender management, strategic sourcing, supplier evaluation, and negotiations
- Build and maintain strong relationships with SMC stakeholders and strategic supply partners to drive business performance, collaboration, and value
- Identify and implement strategic cost-reduction and value-creation opportunities to support financial objectives and maximize procurement savings
- Evaluate and continuously improve procurement processes, recommending and implementing initiatives that enhance efficiency, effectiveness, compliance, and operational performance
- Ensure compliance with company procurement policies, procedures, and established purchasing standards
- Represent Procurement at a regional level, partnering with key stakeholders to align procurement strategies with business objectives
- Lead strategic sourcing initiatives, including:
- Partnering with property subject matter experts (SMEs) to gather requirements, analyze data, and develop sourcing strategies
- Developing and managing RFPs to support strategic sourcing iniatives
- Coordinating supplier communications, competitive bidding, and sourcing activities
- Consolidating and analyzing supplier bids, developing savings strategies, and presenting sourcing recommendations to stakeholders
- Establishing baseline analyses and securing stakeholder alignment on sourcing objectives and recommendations
- Evaluating supplier responses to identify optimal value, quality, and service
- Communicating supplier selections and facilitating successful implementation
- Monitor supplier performance across aligned business units and identifying opportunities for continuous improvement
- Addressing and escalating supplier issues as appropriate to ensure timely resolution and operational continuity
- Represent SMC interests in HFE combined purchasing initiatives to maximize purchasing leverage, savings, and overall value
- Lead, develop, and motivate non-exempt team members through hiring, training, coaching
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Periodically prepares reports to include but not limited to PER execution efficiency, bid process adherence, and project budget metric
- Able to periodically audit the SMC project process and provide reports to support HFE and SMC financial policies and procedures
- Management reserves the right to change and/or add to these duties at any time
- Perform PIC duties within the Operational Areas of SAMs

Education and Experience Required
- Minimum 18 years of age
- Minimum of three (3) years purchasing experience with negotiated contracts of at least $10 million annually
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Bachelor’s degree in Business or related field preferred
- Philosophy of negotiating win/win agreements
- Must have valid driver’s license and state required auto insurance as well as an acceptable driving record
- Ability to safely operate company vehicles according to company policy. Must have valid driver’s license, proof of auto liability insurance and acceptable motor vehicle driving recordOffers of employment are contingent upon satisfactory completion of background screening which includes criminal history and motor vehicle record check
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Excellent math and analytical skills
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word. PowerPoint knowledge preferred
- Able to make a friendly impression when speaking to or corresponding with guests, vendors, and other employees
- Must be self-motivated and disciplined
- Must be able to prioritize and complete work assignments on a timely basis
- Must maintain strict confidentiality and judgment regarding privileged information
- Must have professional appearance with good personal hygiene
- Must be productive in a fast-paced environment
- Must maintain dependable work attendance and flexibility with assigned work schedules including any required overtime, evenings, weekends and holidays
- Must be sensitive to the needs of our Guests and feel empowered to act to meet their needs within company guidelines
- Must be able to utilize effective communication, problem solving, conflict management and interpersonal skills
- Must be able to communicate effectively with Guests and Hosts using approved communication methods
- Able to collaborate with cross-functional teams to plan, execute, and deliver projects ahead of schedule, fostering open communication and mutual support to achieve shared goals
- Able to comprehend instructions and retain information
- Able to perform duties consistent with creating a safe and secure environment for hosts and guests
- Able to be flexible to handle frequent changes in priorities
- Able to tolerate temperatures of 0 to 140 degrees
- Able to work outdoors
Physical Requirements | Environmental Conditions
- Lifting and Carrying: Position may require occasional to frequent lifting of up to 50 lbs utilizing company’s safety guidelines for safe lifting
- Mobility: Position may require intermittent to prolonged sitting, standing and/or walking for duration of shift, up to 13 hours
- Repetitive Movements: This position may require performing repetitive movements and tasks throughout the shift, including repeated use of hands, arms or other body parts as part of typical job functions
- Environmental Conditions: This position requires the ability to perform work tasks in varying weather conditions to include extreme cold and heat
- Cognitive and Sensory Requirements: This position requires strong cognitive skills, including the ability to think critically, solve problems, process and retain information, have attention to detail and communicate effectively using approved communication methods
