Location: Rosemead, CA (Hybrid - onsite days Monday/Tuesday)

Education Requirement
A Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Finance, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience is required. A High School Diploma or Equivalent is necessary.
Required Skills/Attributes
- Three or more years of experience in supply chain, procurement, and/or contract management.
Desired Skills/Attributes
- Experience using SAP software in a purchasing environment, and utilizing Ariba Sourcing, Contracting, and P2P modules.
- Knowledge and decision-making experience in purchasing practices and policies, and knowledge of procurement contracts and standard terms and conditions.
- Experience with industry best practices, standards, utility regulations, procedures, and compliance as they relate to purchasing.
- Experience prioritizing and managing multiple projects simultaneously, and analyzing information to make strategic decisions regarding scope, impact, policy, development, and implementation.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, including oral presentations, formal correspondence, contractual documentation, and negotiations.
- Ability to follow Edison safety protocols and safe work practices.
- CPM, CPSM, CPCM, CCCM, and/or PMP certification(s).
The successful candidate typically possesses three to five years of experience in negotiating and purchasing. They must have a thorough knowledge and demonstrated ability to apply principles of financial analysis, activity-based costing, and supply chain methodology. Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with customers and suppliers, gather client requirements, and negotiate their support requirements is essential. Excellent written and verbal communications are required.
Responsibilities include coordinating and documenting internal/external customer requirements, monitoring projects, schedules, and identifying problems, then maintaining priorities for work in process. Communication across functions to report risks and issues is necessary. The role involves assisting with source selections, documenting purchase orders within authority, and administering any changes. It also involves enforcing purchase order notes, terms, and conditions.
The candidate will participate in new business acquisition and the product/project development and management process. They will gather performance data to monitor supplier capability, capacity, and business health. Participation in supplier performance reviews and cross-functional improvement teams is expected. The candidate will also participate in root cause analysis, development of improvement plans, and monitor progress.
The role requires maintaining relationships and communications with internal/external stakeholders and suppliers, ensuring import and export requirements are met.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities/Workload
- Assists in driving innovation, improving ways of working, and enhancing supplier management systems.
- Aids in executing purchasing and sourcing strategies, addressing short-term and long-term material requirements to achieve the purchasing performance metrics of timely delivery, right quality, and optimum cost.
- Assists with the undertaking of analysis supporting the resolution of risk issues and gap identification.
- Participates in the negotiation process to achieve best value and commercial terms and conditions of moderately complex purchase orders, change orders, requests for proposals, and contracts/agreements.
- Aids in training peers and other stakeholders on the procurement process.
- Helps maintain effective stakeholder relationships with internal customers to become a trusted business partner.
- Aids in identifying critical suppliers and creates appropriate engagement plans to ensure the supply chain risk profile and inputs to continuous improvement are proactively managed.
- Helps understand supplier's position, desired outcomes, and leverage points and establishes structured negotiation plans with clarity of desired outcomes, leveraging stakeholder input and support where appropriate.
- A material job duty of all positions within the Company is ensuring the protection of all its physical, financial, and cybersecurity assets, and properly accessing and managing private customer data, proprietary information, confidential medical records, and other types of highly sensitive information and data with the highest standards of conduct and integrity.
