Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Payroll Specialist to manage accurate and timely bi-weekly payroll processing. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience handling payroll adjustments, resolving pay discrepancies, processing garnishments, and performing payroll reconciliations.
Key Responsibilities
- Process and review bi-weekly payroll for accuracy.
- Handle payroll corrections, retroactive pay, off-cycle checks, deductions, and garnishments.
- Apply payroll policies and union contract requirements.
- Reconcile payroll records with accounting, tax, and benefits records.
- Prepare payroll reports and support audits and year-end activities.
- Assist the Payroll Manager and provide guidance on complex payroll issues.
Required Qualifications
- Associate degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, HR, or a related field.
- 2–4 years of relevant payroll, accounting, timekeeping, or HR experience.
- Strong data entry, analytical, reconciliation, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage confidential information and meet payroll deadlines.
- Hands-on experience processing complex payroll transactions.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with ADP or Trapeze payroll/timekeeping systems.
- Experience working in a unionized environment, particularly with collective bargaining agreements.
