Remote Payroll Specialist
We are seeking an experienced Remote Payroll Specialist to process high-volume, multi-state payroll while ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely completion.
Responsibilities
- Process end-to-end payroll for an assigned employee population across multiple states.
- Perform payroll audits, reconciliations, and data validation.
- Review timekeeping, deductions, tax withholdings, and payroll reports.
- Research and resolve payroll discrepancies and employee inquiries.
- Support year-end processing, system upgrades, and special payroll projects.
- Maintain compliance with applicable state and local payroll tax requirements.
- Protect confidential employee and payroll information.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of hands-on payroll processing experience.
- Experience with high-volume, multi-state payroll.
- Experience with a major payroll/HCM system preferred.
- Intermediate Excel skills, including VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, pivot tables, filtering, and formulas.
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively in a fully remote environment.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
