Job Summary

Manzana Products Co. is seeking a detail-oriented Payroll & Accounting Specialist to support payroll and accounting activities at its Sunnyside and California food production facility. The role combines hands-on payroll processing with account reconciliations, month-end support, recurring reporting, and payroll-related internal controls. The ideal candidate has prior accounting experience in an industrial, manufacturing, or food production environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

·       Process payroll accurately and on time for employees at the Sunnyside and California plant, including review of timekeeping, overtime, shift premiums, paid leave, deductions, and payroll changes.

·       Coordinate payroll information with Human Resources and plant supervisors; investigate and resolve payroll or timekeeping discrepancies.

·       Assist with month-end close preparation, including payroll journal entries, accruals, supporting schedules, and documentation.

·       Prepare monthly reconciliations of payroll, benefits, tax, accrual, and other assigned general ledger accounts; follow discrepancies through resolution.

·       Produce regular payroll reports, including labor cost, overtime, headcount, payroll accuracy, and other management reporting.

·       Maintain and document payroll-related internal controls, approvals, reconciliations, and audit support.

·       Maintain confidential payroll records and support compliance with company policies and applicable payroll requirements.

·       Provide additional accounting support and participate in process-improvement projects as needed.

Qualifications

·       Associate or bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or equivalent experience.

·       Previous payroll processing and general accounting experience; experience in an industrial company, manufacturing environment, or food production business is strongly preferred.

·       Practical experience with month-end support and account reconciliations.

·       Strong Excel skills and experience with payroll and ERP/accounting systems; UKG or Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central experience is a plus.

Skills:

·       Bilingual English/Spanish.

·       Clear communication skills and the ability to work effectively with Finance, Human Resources, supervisors, and employees.

·       Strong attention to detail, confidentiality, organization, and the ability to meet recurring deadlines.
