DescriptionPerforms limited fiscal and contractual audits of payroll records of various county departments and/or grants and assists in the preparation of reports.Responsibilities1. Analyzes payroll budgets, expenditures and revenues to ensure proper posting of transactions and initiates adjustments to the appropriate accounts as necessary.2. Reviews and audits various payroll transactions, budgets, departmental records, reports and accounts to ensure compliance with contractual, grantor, county policy, state and federal laws and regulations, and prepares work papers and reports on audits findings.3. Provides payroll information and assistance to departments and assists with interim/annual statement preparation.4. Performs account reconciliation.5. May provide operational guidance to other payroll staff.6. Performs other duties as assigned.QualificationsEducation, Experience and Training:Education and experience equivalent to a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Business, Accounting, Finance or in a job related field of study. One (1) year work related experience.Special Requirements/Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:Skilled in the use of standard software applications. Ability to effectively communicate, both verbally and in writing, and establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, departments and the general public. Must have a valid Texas Drivers License and good driving record. Will be required to provide a copy of 10-year driving history. Must maintain a good driving record and remain in compliance with Article II, Subdivision II of Chapter 90 of the Dallas County Code.Physical/Environmental Requirements:Standard office environment.
