SUMMARY

The payroll Administrator is responsible for the accurate and timely processing of payroll for employees, ensuring compliance with federal and provincial regulations.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Bi-Weekly preparation of the pay for employees Process regular and off-cycle payrolls (hourly, salaries, bonuses, commissions) Maintain employee payroll records, including new hires, terminations, leaves and changes. Calculate wages, overtime, statutory holiday pay, retro pay and other earnings Ensure accurate deductions for taxes, benefits, pension/retirement plans, garnishments Reconcile payroll reports and resolve discrepancies prior to payroll submission Produce payroll reports for Finance, HR Operations, operations and management as required Respond to employee payroll inquiries professionally and confidentially Support year-end activities, ROE and audits Participate in payroll system upgrades testing, and process improvements Verify attendance, review timesheets, wage computation, hours worked and pay adjustments Inform the supervisors or management of any discrepancy in the timecards Perform clerical duties, such as maintaining and organizing the filing system Distributing the payroll stubs to the different facilities Complete statistical reports, statements and summaries related to pay and benefits accounts and submit them to appropriate departments Complete, verify and process forms and documentation for administration of benefits, pension plan, unemployment and medical insurance Act as a temporary replacement during vacation time Other duties as assigned depending on daily priority (including HR tasks)

EDUCATION

Member of the Canadian Payroll Association/Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) designation

EXPERIENCE

3 to 5 years of payroll related experience in a medium-to-large organization Bilingual (English and French), as they must communicate with internal customers located outside of the province of Quebec. Strong knowledge of payroll legislation Knowledge of Ceridian HRIS Dayforce is mandatory Knowledge of UKG would be an asset Working knowledge of MS Office, Outlook, Excel Ability to work in a team-oriented environment Ability to work independently in a time sensitive environment Reliable, organized, detail oriented, adapt quickly to change and deliver under the pressure of tight deadlines Ability to multi-task & simultaneously manage a high volume of demanding projects. Ability to maintain high degree of confidentiality is mandatory

The position holder will be required to communicate regularly with clients, management and colleagues located outside Quebec as part of work and case follow-ups. An advance level of spoken and written English is required
