Payroll Administrator (Contract)

- Manage the preparation, calculation, and processing of weekly payroll for a large and continually growing workforce (350+) that includes hourly, salaried, and commissioned employees.
- Ensure all employees are paid accurately and on schedule; investigate and resolve discrepancies when they arise.
- Partner with department managers to verify the accuracy of departmental payroll data and resolve issues prior to processing.
- Work closely with the HR Manager to process new hires, maintain employee records, and manage terminations.
- Enter, track, and maintain all garnishments, child support orders, tax levies, and other special payroll deductions.
- Conduct monthly audits of insurance invoices to ensure proper employee deductions.
- Maintain strict confidentiality and protect payroll operations and employee information.
- Keep payroll systems and employee records updated with current information, including pay rates, tax status, benefits, and contact details.
- Track and maintain employee leave balances.
- Stay informed on changes to local, state, and federal payroll laws and regulations.
- Pursue ongoing professional development to stay current with payroll best practices and system enhancements.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; minimum 2 years of full‑cycle payroll experience.
- Familiarity with Paycor or automotive dealership payroll systems is a strong plus.
- Solid understanding of federal and state payroll laws and regulations.
- High level of confidentiality, maturity, and discretion.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Strong communication, organizational skills, and exceptional attention to detail.
- Dependable, able to set priorities, and capable of working independently.
- HR experience and certification is a plus.
- Competitive hourly wage of $22–$27, commensurate with experience.
