    Hours: 20 hours per week (Class I)

    Starting Rate: $32.11 to $36.31 (Depending on Experience) per hour

    Essential Duties & Responsibilities

    • Payroll Processing: Receive, reconcile, and enter all Town and Board of Education timesheets into our payroll software with 100% accuracy. Ensure all timesheets are submitted and approved by department heads.
    • Data Management: Enter new employee data into NOVAtime and ensure terminations are promptly and accurately updated across all payroll/HR systems.
    • Reporting & Compliance: Research and complete TRB Leave of Absence forms, compile statistical data for summary reports, and distribute contractually required reports and payroll deduction checks.
    • Community Support: Serve as a helpful, welcoming first point of contact for employee inquiries, verification of employment requests, and payroll change requests.
    • Digital Maintenance: Keep our community informed by updating the payroll web page and calendar.

    Desired Qualifications

    Education & Experience:

    • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
    • Minimum of three (3) years of experience in payroll operations.
    • Experience in governmental or school district payroll is highly desirable.
    • Any equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.

    Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

    • Precision & Math Skills: Considerable mathematical ability with a proven track record of maintaining high accuracy in data-heavy environments.
    • Tech Savvy: Strong knowledge of basic payroll principles and computerized payroll systems; ability to navigate software efficiently.
    • Organizational Excellence: Exceptional ability to organize, prioritize, and self-schedule work to meet strict deadlines.
    • Interpersonal Skills: Outstanding communication skills to collaborate effectively with town employees, school staff, and the public.
