What is the role?
Westerra Credit Union is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Operational Risk Analyst to support the daily operations of key risk management programs, including Vendor Management, and Business Continuity.
This entry-level role is ideal for someone looking to build a career in risk and compliance. As an Entry Professional (Level I), you will complete assigned tasks and projects under supervision while developing foundational knowledge of risk management programs and processes.
What will be expected of me?
- Add Assist with daily administrative and operational tasks supporting ERM, Vendor Management, and Business Continuity programs
- Assist in maintaining documentation, files, and templates for risk-related processes
- Support assigned tasks related to program activities and initiatives
- Assist with daily administrative and operational tasks supporting ERM, Vendor Management, and Business Continuity programs
- Maintain documentation, files, and templates for risk-related processes
- Support assigned tasks related to program activities and initiatives
- Help maintain and organize Business Continuity Plan documentation
- Assist with updates and coordination of continuity-related activities
- Support scheduling and logistics for continuity meetings or exercises
- Enter and maintain data in risk and vendor management systems
- Assist in preparing basic reports and compiling information
- Ensure accuracy and completeness of assigned data and documentation
- Other duties as assigned.

What am I bringing?
Experience/Education:
- 2+ years’ experience in risk, compliance, operations, or related field
- Ncontracts Knowledge preferred
Skills and Abilities:
- Detail oriented with strong organizational and time management skills
- Ability to follow processes and complete tasks accurately
- Basic problem-solving and critical thinking skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Ability to learn quickly and adapt in a team environment
- Ability to work under supervision and follow direction
- Exhibits strong verbal and written communication skills
- Must maintain high-level of confidentiality
- Uses judgement with supervision
- Understands the basic business line and operating environment
What is the work environment like, and are there physical requirements for this role?
- Hybrid: Typically, a dispersed, flexible team environment both on Westerra campus (at least 2x/week) and remote. Employees must reside in Colorado or be willing to relocate prior to starting employment. Residency is required for payroll and state tax purposes.
- Occasionally: Off-site at business development or community events; may require weekend and/or evening shifts offset by branch schedule

- Ability to lift 25 pounds
- After-Hours Availability: May be required to work outside of normal business hours in the event of an emergency
- Travel Requirements: May need to travel within the Denver Metro and surrounding areas to support branch needs
Salary: in addition to the starting annual salary rate of $55,664-$69,580 , this role is also eligible for Westerra’s self-funding reward plan. This plan pays out a cash incentive annually if Westerra hits specific criteria tied to financial goals and this role has a direct impact on the outcome of those results!
