We have an great opportunity in our Finance. We are currently hiring for a Manager, Accounts Payable position

What You Will Do

As the Manager, Accounts Payable you will be responsible for providing effective leadership, management and oversight of the Accounts Payable team that performs the financial administration to receive, verify, record, pay and reconcile invoices for TTC’s $2B+ third party spend portfolio on behalf of the Commission.

Monitor and evaluate Accounts Payable’s service performance through key performance indicators, management reports, and quantitative and qualitative analyses that gauge service effectiveness or efficiency to ensure adherence to goals, and identifying and addressing problem areas within the section and/or Commission.

This role acts as a key contact for vendors, proactively identifies, escalates and addresses any major issues with vendors and TTC departments, manages AP staff supporting the year-end financial close process, and manages the systems administration of the main AP system and interfaced systems. In addition, develop and continuously improve policies, processes and controls to ensure payments made by the TTC to its vendors are complete, accurate and timely, and in compliance with contractual obligations and legal agreements.

Support the development of a multi-year Departmental business plan, detailed strategic goals and objectives, operating and capital budgets, and monitor to ensure compliance with approved budgets, organizational policies and the TTC’s corporate plan and directives

The incumbent must exercise superior analytical and problem solving abilities in order to assess, analyze and effectively interpret large quantities of data and information from a variety of sources to support decision-making, accurate reporting, strategic controls, policies and plans. Work closely with other TTC departments to build understanding, buy-in and compliance with any changes to the invoice payment process.

As well, work with Procurement & Category Management (PCM), Materials Management (MM) and/or ITS personnel to analyze potential changes to any AP, PCM or MM policies, procedures or systems that may impact the integrated functionality of purchasing, receipt and payment. Ensure their implementation does not compromise compliance with generally accepted accounting principles, related policies and regulations, or the efficiency and effectiveness of AP operations
