Manager Accounting Services

HornBill client based in Stamford, Connecticut (CT) is in need of a Manager of Accounting Services. Summary: The Candidate will be detail oriented with proven ability to perform wide range of tasks from posting journal entries, preparing equity and investment roll forwards, and independently prepare financial statements. The Ideal candidate should be accountable and responsible for follow-up items and possess very strong analytical and organizational skills with the ability to multi-task and work independently. This individual will have exposure to many different parts of the finance organization. As a result, the individual must be a team player and be able to influence constituents to complete assignments. The ideal candidate will have solid accounting knowledge and experience of technical accounting principles and their impact and would be able to demonstrate the ability to research and communicate the impact of accounting pronouncements on the companies. Preparation of annual audited external financial statements (including Pharmaceutical, Pension, and Others) including footnote disclosures as well as quarterly external reporting requirements. Responsibilities:

• Prepare various balance sheet account analyses and P&L true ups relating to pension and post-retirement benefits, severance reserves, and long-term incentive plans
• Prepare financial analysis relating to various P&L line items
• Assist with other ad hoc projects including budgeting and cash flow forecasting
• Oversee all aspects of general ledger maintenance including chart of accounts, P&L and balance sheet hierarchies, profit centers
• Participate in internal control initiatives quarterly and monthly balance sheet analyses

• BS/BA in Accounting, with 8-10 years of Public Accounting / Auditing experience or experience in a similar role
• CPA/MBA and proficiency in Excel, Word and PowerPoint required
• Working knowledge of SAP required
• Hands on experience preparing and auditing financial statements and researching accounting pronouncements
