Position: Remote Home Health & Hospice Billing Specialist

Location: Remote (Must be able to work Pacific Time hours, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM PST)
Pay: $22-$24 per hour, DOE
Schedule: Full-time

About the Role

Puget Sound Home Health & Hospice is seeking an experienced Billing Specialist to join our growing Home Health and Hospice billing team. This is a fully remote position for candidates who have experience with Home Health and/or Hospice billing processes and Home Care Home Base (HCHB).

Responsibilities

• Process Home Health and Hospice billing accurately and efficiently
• Ensure compliance with Medicare, Medicaid, and payer regulations
• Manage accounts receivable, collections, and aged accounts
• Submit claims and reconcile fiscal data in accordance with established standards
• Prepare reports, including Medicare cost reports and bad debt summaries
• Collaborate with internal teams to resolve billing issues promptly
• Maintain accurate documentation and records for audits and compliance requirements
• Follow up on claim denials, appeals, and resubmissions

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of Home Health and/or Hospice billing experience
• Experience billing Medicare and Medicaid, Medicare Advantage, and commercial insurances
• Home Care Home Base (HCHB) experience required
• Strong understanding of payer contracts and government billing regulations
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a remote environment
• Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
• Must be available to work 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM Pacific Time (PST)
