Payroll Manager 

 (Full-Time, Exempt Position) 

Inner City Law Center (ICLC) is a nonprofit law firm located in the Skid Row neighborhood of Los Angeles. We are looking for extraordinary people to help us end homelessness in Los Angeles. Founded on the fundamental principle that every person should always be treated with dignity and respect, ICLC fights for justice for low-income tenants, working-poor families, people who are disabled or experiencing homelessness, people living with HIV/AIDS, and homeless veterans. 

Position Description: ICLC seeks a highly motivated Payroll Manager to oversee all aspects of payroll processing, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance. Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO), the Payroll Manager is responsible for managing the organization’s end-to-end payroll operations, maintaining payroll systems, ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations, and collaborating closely with Human Resources and Finance to support organizational success. 

Responsibilities:

Hiring Criteria: Commitment to ICLC’s mission and values. Mission-driven and dedicated to eradicating homelessness and dismantling the systems that contribute to it. Committed to equity, diversity, and racial justice. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience. In-depth experience with payroll processing and payroll administration, with proficiency in spreadsheets, QuickBooks, Microsoft Office Suite, and payroll systems such as Paycor. Organized, detail-oriented, and able to assume responsibility quickly and independently in a rapidly growing organization. Ability to use sound judgment, effectively prioritize multiple responsibilities, and consistently meet deadlines. Self-motivated, proactive, and solutions-oriented with a high level of integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality. Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across Finance and Human Resources. Must have access to reliable transportation.  

Compensation: Annual compensation ranges from $70,304 - $90,000 per year and is commensurate with qualifications and experience. Excellent benefits.
