ABOUT THE ROLE:
The Director, Financial Planning & Analysis, serves as the primary finance business partner to the Chief Operating Officer and the Operations leadership team. This role provides strategic financial leadership, operational insights, and decision support across Quality, Research & Development, Clinical, Regulatory, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Engineering, and Facilities. The Director translates business objectives into actionable financial plans, drives disciplined forecasting and reporting, and enables informed decisions that support growth, operational excellence, profitability, and compliance
Responsibilities
WHAT YOU'LL DO:
- Serve as the lead finance partner to the Chief Operating Officer (COO) and Operations leadership team, providing strategic guidance on financial performance, investment decisions, business initiatives, and resource allocation to support sustainable growth and operational excellence.
- Lead the annual operating plan, long-range planning, and monthly forecasting processes across all COO-supported functions, ensuring alignment between strategic priorities and financial objectives.
- Develop and maintain financial models, business cases, and scenario analyses that enable informed decision-making, prudent risk assessment, and effective investment prioritization.
- Partner closely with Quality, R&D, Clinical, Regulatory, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Engineering, and Facilities leaders to evaluate performance, address emerging risks, capitalize on opportunities, and support the successful execution of critical initiatives.
- Deliver timely and actionable financial reporting that provides clear insight into trends, variances, operational drivers, and recommended actions to enhance business performance.
- Foster strong financial accountability and disciplined resource management while supporting company objectives related to profitability, cash flow optimization, and inventory efficiency.
- Evaluate and support product development investments, operational initiatives, manufacturing capacity planning, supply chain strategies, and capital expenditures that contribute to long-term business success and customer outcomes.
- Lead analyses of productivity initiatives, cost optimization opportunities, operational efficiency programs, and margin improvement efforts, driving measurable value across the organization.
- Partner with Accounting to ensure accurate financial reporting, transparency of results, and a shared understanding of business performance.
- Collaborate across functions to support strategic initiatives, business transformation efforts, and organizational priorities, building strong relationships that enable effective execution.
- Establish and enhance KPI reporting frameworks that provide meaningful operational and financial insights, helping leaders make data-driven decisions and focus on key performance drivers.
- Support Executive Leadership Team, Board of Directors, and investor-related financial analyses with high-quality insights, sound judgment, and a commitment to accuracy.
- Champion continuous improvement of FP&A processes, reporting capabilities, financial systems, and data analytics to increase efficiency, scalability, and business impact.
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor while demonstrating flexibility, ownership, and a commitment to achieving team and organizational goals.
Qualifications
WHAT YOU'LL BRING:
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or related field required; MBA, Master’s degree, CPA, CMA, or other relevant professional certification preferred.
Experience:
- Twelve or more years of progressive finance experience, including significant experience in FP&A, business partnering, and operational finance.
- Demonstrated experience supporting manufacturing, supply chain, engineering, R&D, or operational organizations.
- Experience within medical device, healthcare, life sciences, biotechnology, or other regulated manufacturing environments preferred.
- Proven success influencing executive leaders and driving financial accountability.
- Strong financial modeling, forecasting, budgeting, strategic planning, and investment analysis expertise.
- Advanced proficiency with financial systems, ERP platforms, business intelligence / planning tools, and Microsoft Excel; experience presenting recommendations to executive leadership.

- Continuous Improvement: Streamlines processes, improves reporting, and enhances data-driven decision-making.

The compensation package includes:
- Base salary of $200,000-$230,000/year
- 20% Discretionary bonus
- Equity participation as approved by Board of Directors (4-year vesting schedule)
