Position Summary

The Controller is a key business leader responsible for accounting, financial planning and analysis, cost control, and internal controls. This role works closely with operations and sales to position the plant for profitable growth, and manages and develops the accounting team. The Controller reports to the CFO.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Own the monthly close and deliver timely, accurate financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
• Review results and key metrics with senior management, quantify risk, and recommend actions that improve profit and financial position.
• Lead the annual business plan and monthly P&L and margin forecasts.
• Prepare financial analysis that supports customer quoting, capital expenditure, and new-business decisions, and validate return on investment.
• Manage working capital with focus on inventory, receivables, and payables.
• Maintain internal controls and support internal and external audits.
• Develop, coach, and evaluate the accounting staff.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting; CPA or MBA preferred.
• 8+ years of accounting and managerial experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Working knowledge of GAAP, cost accounting, inventory, and standard costing.
• Experience with a manufacturing ERP.
• Proven ability to lead a team and to work the shop floor and the boardroom equally well.
• Proficient in MS Office, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
• Superior written and oral communication skills.
