Controller + Healthcare + Council Bluffs 

If you’re an accounting leader who gets bored doing the same thing every day, this could be exactly the kind of Controller role you’ve been looking for. This is a hands-on opportunity with our client, a growing healthcare organization where priorities shift, unusual projects come up, and the finance team works together to figure things out. You’ll have autonomy, direct access to the CFO, and the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on how financial information is reported and used across the organization. 

This is not a highly structured, stay-in-your-lane Controller position. The right person will be adaptable, curious and comfortable moving between month-end, revenue analysis, reporting challenges, system work and special projects without needing every day to follow the same routine. 

What You'll Do

• Lead and support month-end close and general accounting activities 
• Oversee revenue accounting and help ensure financial information is accurate and useful 
• Prepare, analyze and interpret financial statements and management reporting 
• Dig into data, identify inconsistencies and improve the quality of financial reporting 
• Pull and manipulate information from multiple systems to support accounting and operational needs 
• Provide financial information used in healthcare cost reporting 
• Supervise select members of the finance/systems team 
• Partner closely with the CFO and other members of a collaborative accounting department 
• Assist with budgeting, audit preparation and other finance initiatives 
• Take on special projects as the organization evolves 

What They're Looking For 

You could be a great fit if you: 

• Are a strong accountant with solid knowledge of revenue, financial statements and month-end accounting 
• Have advanced Excel and financial reporting skills 
• Can work with report-writing tools and aren't intimidated by digging into systems to get the information you need 
• Are comfortable operating in an environment where priorities and projects can change 
• Enjoy solving problems more than following an established checklist 
• Can work independently while also being a collaborative partner to the CFO 
• Are willing to learn, make decisions and adjust when something doesn't work the first time 
• Have the ability to supervise and develop others
