Position Summary

The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) is a key member of LOPA’s Executive Leadership Team and a pivotal enterprise strategist, responsible for shaping the organization’s long-term vision, financial sustainability, competitive position, and operational resilience. The CFO provides executive leadership for Finance, Information Technology, and Facilities, ensuring these functions operate as strategic enablers of LOPA’s mission and long-term success. 

The CFO leads enterprise financial strategy, capital planning, risk management, technology strategy, and operational infrastructure while promoting accountability, transparency, innovation, and organizational resilience. The CFO translates complex financial and operational information into actionable insights that inform enterprise decision-making. As a principal advisor to the CEO and Board of Directors, the CFO provides the financial perspective necessary to manage risk, evaluate opportunities, allocate resources, and protect LOPA’s long-term sustainability and impact.

Key Responsibilities

• Enterprise Strategy & Transformation: Serves as a strategic partner to the CEO and Executive Leadership Team in developing and executing LOPA’s long-term strategy. Leads multi-year financial modeling, capital planning, strategic investment, and enterprise growth initiatives. Evaluates emerging opportunities, organizational priorities, and transformation efforts to ensure resources are aligned with LOPA’s strategic direction and long-term sustainability. 
• Executive Presence & Influence: Translates complex financial, operational, technological, and risk-related information into clear, actionable insights for the CEO, Board of Directors, Executive Leadership Team, and key external stakeholders. Builds confidence and consensus through sound analysis, strategic perspective, and effective executive communication.
• Strategic Leadership: Develops and executes the strategic vision for the Finance, Information Technology, and Facilities portfolio in alignment with LOPA’s mission, values, and enterprise priorities. Advances policies, systems, and practices that strengthen organizational performance, and scalability. 
• Executive Operational Leadership: Provides executive oversight of system-level operations across Finance, Information Technology, and Facilities. Establishes appropriate performance expectations, accountability structures, and operating standards while ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and organizational policies. Drives continuous improvement, operational efficiency, innovation, and effective execution across areas of responsibility. 
• Financial Strategy & Stewardship: Provides executive leadership for LOPA’s financial health and sustainability. Oversees financial planning and analysis, accounting, budgeting, forecasting, capital planning, & financial reporting. Ensures financial decisions are grounded in sound analysis and aligned with organizational priorities, risk tolerance, and long-term mission needs. Provides leadership in evaluating investments, managing resources, and identifying opportunities to strengthen financial performance.
• Technology, Infrastructure & Operational Resilience: Provides executive oversight of Information Technology and Facilities, ensuring LOPA maintains secure, reliable, scalable, and mission-supportive infrastructure. Partners with leaders to advance technology strategy, cybersecurity, business continuity, facilities planning, safety, and capital investments. Ensures infrastructure and systems are positioned to support organizational growth and operational resilience.
• Enterprise Risk Management & Internal Controls: Leads the organization’s financial and operational risk management strategy and partners with executive leaders to identify, assess, mitigate, and monitor enterprise risks. Strengthens internal controls, compliance, cybersecurity, business continuity, and organizational resilience while ensuring appropriate governance and accountability.
• Talent & Culture Development: Champions leadership development, workforce planning, succession planning, and a culture of accountability and high performance within the CFO’s portfolio and across the organization. Partners with fellow executives and Human Resources to develop capable leaders, strengthen organizational resilience, and reinforce LOPA’s values and culture.
• Stakeholder & External Engagement: Serves as a senior representative of LOPA with national, state, and community stakeholders, financial partners, regulatory organizations, vendors, and other strategic partners. Builds and maintains relationships that support LOPA’s financial sustainability, operational effectiveness, reputation, and mission.
• Board & Executive Governance: Serves as a primary financial advisor and executive liaison to the CEO and Board of Directors. Provides timely, transparent, and meaningful financial and operational reporting to support effective governance and strategic decision-making. Advises the Board and CEO regarding financial performance, investments, risk, capital priorities, organizational sustainability, and emerging opportunities.
• Enterprise Planning & Crisis Leadership: Leads or contributes to enterprise-wide strategic planning, policy development, succession planning, crisis management, and organizational transformation. Provides executive leadership during significant operational, financial, technological, or organizational events and ensures appropriate continuity and recovery strategies are in place.
• Additional Responsibilities: Performs other executive leadership responsibilities as assigned by the CEO and serves as a strategic partner to the Executive Leadership Team in advancing LOPA’s mission, organizational priorities, and long-term success. 

Qualifications & Competencies

• Master’s or doctoral degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, or a related field; CPA strongly preferred. 
• 10+ years of progressive leadership experience, including executive oversight of finance and related operational domains such as Information Technology, Facilities, or enterprise risk management. 
• Demonstrated expertise in financial strategy, multi-year financial modeling, budgeting, treasury management, capital planning, and long-term financial sustainability. 
• Proven ability to evaluate strategic investments and align capital and organizational resources with enterprise priorities and long-term growth.
• Track record of leading organizational transformation, shaping high-level policy, and executing complex change initiatives that strengthen organizational performance and resilience.
• Demonstrated expertise in audit readiness, internal controls, regulatory compliance, and financial governance.
• Strong understanding of healthcare or nonprofit financial environments, reimbursement structures, and regulatory requirements.
• Knowledge of enterprise IT systems, cybersecurity principles, risk-management, and technology governance best practices.
• Experience overseeing facilities operations, capital projects, infrastructure planning, and facility and biomedical safety protocols. 
• Exceptional communication and relationship-building skills, with demonstrated executive presence and the ability to translate complex financial and operational information for diverse audiences.
• Strong analytical, operational, and fiscal acumen, with the ability to connect financial stewardship to mission outcomes and enterprise strategy.
• Proficiency with enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems, financial analytics tools, and executive reporting platforms.
• Commitment to ethical leadership, transparency, continuous improvement, and fostering an inclusive, high-trust organizational culture.

Work Environment & Expectations

• Full-time, salaried position (Mon–Fri, 8:30 AM–5:00 PM), with flexibility as needed
• May require after-hours availability and occasional travel
• Office and clinical environments; occasional exposure to clinical materials
