Deputy CFO

HornBill has a client in Herndon, Virginia (VA) that is seeking a Deputy CFO (Costpoint Required). Duties and Responsibilities:

• The Deputy CFO will report directly to the CFO
• Oversee all day-to-day accounting operations, including GL, finance systems and processes, technical accounting A/P, A/R, payroll and cash management
• Manage month-end close process and produce monthly financial statements and other management reporting as required on a timely basis
• Manage the daily operations of the accounting system
• Manage the Accounting staff and workload across the federal market
• Monitor the system effectiveness and make recommendation on enhancements and other processes
• Implement accounting policies and procedures to streamline accounting operations that improve overall efficiency
• Act as a subject matter expert for accounting questions including as it relates to GAAP, FAR and Deltek questions
• Lead coordination of various accounting projects including setting up of major contracts, new subsidiaries and similar projects
• Prepare cash flow forecasts and monitor/manage cash flow
• Develop and maintain financial and operating budgets
• Coordinate outside audits with outside independent auditors and regulatory agencies (DCAA)
• Support proposal activity by helping to create pricing responses to RFPs and RFQs
• Assure compliance with all federal, state and local corporate, payroll and other applicable tax issues
• Ensure accurate consolidation of financial information including recording/elimination of all intercompany activity

• Master's degree or CPA (or equivalent experience) required
• Minimum of 10 years of all aspects of accounting with strong supervisory and mentoring experience; Experience should include management of teams of 10 or more individuals
• Government contract accounting experience and a working knowledge of accounting principles, GAAP, as well as DCAA/DCMAFAR/CAS regulations
• Experience with all types of Federal contracts
• Hands on experience with maintaining government-compliant accounting systems for job costing and financial management
• Deltek Costpoint system experience required
• Strong knowledge of Excel and other Microsoft applications
• Experience in public accounting strongly preferred
• Experience operating in multi-subsidiary or multi-divisional environments strongly preferred
