The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) plays a critical leadership role with ongoing, day-to-day influence on company operations. As a key member of the senior management team, the CFO is responsible for executing the organization’s financial strategy and helping shape and implement the company’s overall strategic vision. The CFO should have a deep expertise in current accounting practices and financial trends, along with experience in raising capital and navigating organizational change. The CFO oversees the Management Services team, ensuring effective operations, administrative support, and organizational efficiency across departments. The CFO provides financial insight and direction to support business growth and is expected to communicate clearly and effectively across all levels of the organization.

Essential Job Responsibilities:

• Offer strategic direction and leadership to the management services team.
• Develop and implement best practices and tools to ensure a well-controlled yet flexible organization that has strong fiscal management.
• Direct the company’s accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls. Recommend and implement improvements to ensure the integrity of a company’s financial information.
• Hire, train, and retain skilled accounting and finance staff to support the needs of the business.
• Oversee the issuance of financial reporting and analysis on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
• Analyze financial impact of business and operational issues and opportunities for the company.
• Ensure cash flow is compatible with operations, monitor and report on cash balances and bank borrowing activity.
• Manage the annual operational and capital budgeting process, quarterly forecasting, and cash forecasting.
• Maintain financial institution relationships and be the primary point of contact for those relationships. Collaborate with senior leadership for debt and capital raise opportunities.
• Lead the organization’s risk management programs including managing all corporate business risk insurance plans.
• Managing or overseeing the relationship with outside accounting firms, and consulting firms as needed
• Oversee company ERP and financial systems implementations and upgrades
• Collaborate with the CEO and Director, People and Culture in managing employee benefit programs and plans with an emphasis on maximizing benefit delivery while managing cost.
• Collaborate with the company CEO and senior leaders in performing analysis and due diligence for company mergers and acquisitions.
• Oversee and coordinate tax planning, strategies, and remittances for all jurisdictions on behalf of the company and shareholders.
• Evaluates and recommends business partnering opportunities.
• Manage information technology managed service provider on technology decisions.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in the financial field. MBA, CPA a plus.
• 10+ years of experience in a financial leadership role.
• 10+ years in financial analysis and full life cycle accounting.
• Exceptional knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, job cost accounting, cost control principles, and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
• Strong computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
• Proven experience with a high level of organizational skills, quality, and attention to detail.
• Excellent written, oral communication.
• Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
