Our client is a growing, privately held organization seeking a strategic and hands-on Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to join its executive leadership team. This is a unique opportunity to partner directly with ownership and play a key role in shaping the financial strategy, operational performance, and long-term growth of the company.
The ideal candidate will bring a combination of financial leadership, operational business acumen, and the ability to work both strategically and hands-on within a middle-market environment. Key Responsibilities
Financial Leadership & Strategy
Partner with ownership and executive leadership on long-term business strategy and growth initiatives
Provide financial analysis and recommendations to improve profitability and operational performance
Develop key performance indicators (KPIs) and financial reporting metrics
Support strategic planning, investment decisions, and organizational growth
Financial Planning & Analysis
Lead annual budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes
Develop financial models and scenario planning tools
Analyze financial performance and provide actionable recommendations
Monitor business performance against budget and strategic objectives
Accounting & Financial Oversight
Oversee accounting, financial reporting, and internal control functions
Ensure timely and accurate month-end and year-end close processes
Review financial statements and management reporting packages
Coordinate external audits, tax filings, and regulatory compliance activities
Maintain strong financial controls, policies, and procedures
Cash Flow & Risk Management
Oversee cash flow planning and working capital management
Manage banking, lending, and financial institution relationships
Evaluate financing opportunities and capital requirements
Identify and mitigate financial and operational risks
Operational Partnership
Collaborate with leadership across operations and other key business functions
Support decision-making through financial analysis and business insights
Evaluate contracts, investments, and growth opportunities
Assist leadership in identifying operational efficiencies and process improvements
Team Leadership
Lead, mentor, and develop accounting and finance personnel
Build scalable financial processes and reporting structures
Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement
Support future growth and development of the finance organization
Qualifications
Required
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field
10+ years of progressive accounting and finance leadership experience
Strong background in budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and cash management
Thorough understanding of GAAP, financial controls, and business operations
Experience partnering with executive leadership and ownership groups
Strong analytical, communication, and leadership skills
Preferred
CPA, CMA, MBA, or similar advanced credential
Experience within manufacturing, industrial, engineering, construction, project-based, or professional services organizations
Multi-entity accounting experience
ERP implementation, optimization, or conversion experience
Prior experience as a CFO, VP Finance, Finance Director, or Corporate Controller
