Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented individual to join our team at JPS Jackson High School as a Bookkeeper Administrative Assistant. This full-time position will play a crucial role in supporting the financial operations of the school while providing administrative assistance to ensure smooth day-to-day operations. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills, a solid understanding of bookkeeping principles, and the ability to work collaboratively in an educational environment.
Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate financial records, including accounts payable and receivable, payroll, and bank reconciliations.
- Assist in the preparation of financial reports and budgets for school administration.
- Process invoices, purchase orders, and payments in a timely manner.
- Manage and track school funds, ensuring compliance with district policies and regulations.
- Support the administration with general office tasks, including answering phones, filing, and data entry.
- Coordinate with vendors and service providers regarding billing and payment inquiries.
- Assist in the preparation of financial documentation for audits and reviews.
- Provide support for special projects and events as needed.
- Maintain confidentiality of financial and student information in accordance with school policies.
- Collaborate with faculty and staff to ensure smooth financial operations and address any inquiries related to budgeting or expenses.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree in accounting, finance, or related field preferred.
- Proven experience in bookkeeping or accounting, preferably in an educational setting.
- Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial data entry and reporting.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact with staff, students, and vendors.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
- Familiarity with school finance regulations and policies is a plus.
- Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and integrity in handling sensitive information.

This is a 46 week position.
