Billing Specialist

Due to continued growth, we are looking to add a Billing Specialist to our team in Liverpool, NY. The Billing Specialist will be responsible for preparing customer invoices, managing accounts receivable, and ensuring accurate and timely billing processes. The ideal candidate has strong analytical skills, excellent communication, and the ability to handle sensitive information with discretion.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and issue accurate invoices for products/services rendered to clients.
• Review and verify billing data and documents for accuracy and completeness.
• Monitor accounts receivable, follow up on outstanding payments, and resolve discrepancies.
• Respond to client inquiries regarding billing issues, discrepancies, and payment terms.
• Maintain, organize, and update billing records and customer accounts in the billing system.
• Collaborate with other departments, such as sales and customer service, to ensure customer satisfaction.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and relevant regulations.
• Assist in preparing financial reports related to billing and collections.
• Identify opportunities for process improvement and efficiency.
• Perform additional accounting and administrative tasks as assigned.

Qualifications 

• High school diploma or equivalent; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
• Proven experience as a Billing Specialist or in a similar finance role.
• Strong knowledge of billing procedures and collection techniques.
• Proficiency in using accounting software and MS Office (especially Excel).
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• High degree of integrity and confidentiality. 

Work Environment

• Office-based position (remote/hybrid work may be possible depending on the company policy).
• Full-time, standard business hours, with occasional overtime to meet deadlines.
