Assistant Controller

Location: Staten Island, NY - 4 days/week in office
Salary: $100k - $150k

A healthcare company is seeking an Assistant Controller to work closely with the Director of Finance and support accounting, reporting, and financial management functions.

This is a hands-on role with exposure across monthly financials, AP oversight, reporting, analytics, and process improvement.

Responsibilities

• Assist with day-to-day accounting and financial management

• Prepare monthly financial statements and internal reports

• Oversee AP processes and support accuracy, timeliness, and controls

• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, cash flow reporting, and financial analysis

• Prepare reporting and analytics for leadership

• Help improve accounting processes, systems, and internal controls

• Work closely with the Director of Finance on finance and accounting projects

Requirements

• CPA preferred

• Public accounting background preferred, but not required

• Controller, Assistant Controller, Senior Accountant, or similar accounting experience

• Healthcare experience preferred

• Strong accounting foundation and attention to detail

• Strong work ethic with a high level of ownership

• Able to think independently, use sound judgment, and take initiative

• Comfortable working hands-on and taking responsibility beyond a narrow accounting function
