Job Description:
- The Account Payable Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the general accounting team.
- This role ensures accurate and timely financial reporting, compliance with accounting standards, and effective internal controls.
- The AP Supervisor will also mentor and develop team members, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the general accounting team to ensure efficient and accurate processing of financial transactions.
- Oversee month-end and year-end closing processes, including reconciliations, journal entries, and financial statement preparation.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and other regulatory requirements.
- Develop and implement accounting policies and procedures to enhance internal controls and operational efficiency.
- Coordinate with external auditors during audits and provide necessary documentation and support.
- Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement.
- Prepare and present financial reports to senior management, providing insights and recommendations.
- Mentor and develop team members, providing training and performance feedback.
- Collaborate with other departments to support overall business objectives and initiatives.
- Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in accounting and finance.
Requirements:
- 5+ years of experience in general accounting, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or team lead role.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and other relevant accounting standards.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong leadership and team management abilities.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Detail-oriented with a high degree of accuracy.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Continuous improvement mindset and willingness to adapt to changing business needs.
Education:
- Prefer Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- CPA or equivalent certification preferred.
