Accounts Payable Specialist

Jerry's Enterprises, Inc. is looking for an Accounts Payable Specialist to join our team!  The Accounts Payable Specialist is a key part of our company and provides financial, administrative and clerical support in an efficient, timely and accurate manner.  The AP Specialist helps manage Jerry’s Enterprises Inc.’s procurement and accounts payable functions by working closely with appropriate staff and clients to accomplish duties and responsibilities.

This is a full-time, non-exempt position with benefits including medical, dental, vision and life insurance, short term disability and 401K with company match. Additional benefits include paid time off and store discounts. This position works in our corporate office with a hybrid option eventually available (up to two days per week).

Reports to:  Accounts Payable Manager

Location: Jerry's Enterprise's Corporate Office, Edina MN

Classification:  Non-Exempt 

Rate of Pay:  $25 - $33 per hour, depending on experience 

Hours:  Monday - Friday, 8 am - 4:30 pm

What You’ll Do:

·         Provide stores with support regarding vendor issues and help come to a resolution

·         Pay vendors by scheduling payments, ensuring payments are posted, and processing outstanding credits

·         Seek to understand payment process and strive to improve process

·         Reconcile statements to ensure vendor relationships are kept satisfactory

·         Communicate with stores regarding past due invoices

·         Manage daily payable data imports from stores

·         Manage pricing discrepancies with vendors and corporate pricing department

·         Maintain a good working relationship with vendors

·         Maintain account ledgers by verifying and posting accounting transactions

·         Protect organization’s integrity by keeping information confidential

·         Manage process between bank and company and strive to bring down costs of payment process

·         Establish and maintain relationships with new and existing vendors.

·         Ensure bills and payroll are paid in a timely and accurate manner while adhering to departmental procedures

What We’re Looking For:

·         Previous Accounts Payable experience preferred

·         High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required

·         Strong planning and organizing skills

·         Ability to motivate and work in cooperation with others to achieve desired results

·         Knowledge of general accounting principles, regulatory standards and compliance requirements

·         High degree of accuracy, attention to detail and confidentiality

·         Possess analytical, assessment, program execution and facilitation skills

·         Use independent thinking and sound judgement to identify issues and develop practical solutions

·         Excellent written and verbal communication skills

·         Strong personal computer and business solutions software skills
