Accounts Payable Clerk

As a result of continuously growing our professional team, we have a challenging career opportunity for an Accounts Payable Clerk in our Accounting Department. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate to gain experience and start a career in accounting.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Complete payments and control expenses by receiving, processing, verifying, and reconciling invoices.
• Reconcile processed work by verifying entries and comparing system reports to balances.
• Charge expenses to accounts and cost centers by analyzing invoice/expense reports; recording entries.
• Pay vendors by monitoring discount opportunities, verifying federal id numbers, scheduling and preparing check proposals, and resolving purchase order, contract, invoice, or payment discrepancies and documentation.
• Ensure credit is received for outstanding memos.
• Reimburse employees by receiving and verifying expense reports and requests for advances; preparing checks.
• Maintain accounting ledgers by verifying and posting account transactions.
• Verify vendor accounts by reconciling monthly statements and related transactions.
• Reconciliation of petty cash.
• Reporting sales taxes by calculating requirements on paid invoices.
• Protect organization’s value by keeping information confidential.
• Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities.
