Temporary Project Opportunity

Are you detail-oriented, organized, and experienced in accounting support? We are currently seeking an Accounts Payable Clerk for a temporary project assignment. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working with invoices, vendor communications, reporting, and keeping financial records accurate and up to date.

In this role, you’ll help ensure the timely and accurate payment of authorized invoices while supporting key accounting and reporting functions.

What You’ll Do

As an Accounts Payable Clerk, you will be responsible for handling accounts payable functions with accuracy, professionalism, and attention to detail.

Essential Responsibilities

• Verify purchase orders, arrivals, and invoices to ensure proper and timely payment 
• Review invoices against the payable check register 
• Verify expense items for proper G/L coding and authorization 
• Log and verify cigarette and tobacco purchases for monthly state reporting 
• Extract and compile accurate information for monthly tax reporting 
• Verify monthly reporting that impacts month-end closing 
• Communicate courteously and professionally with vendors to resolve payable issues 
• Maintain an organized and effective filing system 
• Perform research and assist with projects related to daily accounting responsibilities 
• Provide backup support for receptionist and mailroom clerk duties as needed 

What We’re Looking For

• 1+ year of prior accounting experience preferred 
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy 
• Ability to stay organized and manage multiple priorities 
• Professional communication and problem-solving skills 
• Dependable and able to work independently in a fast-paced environment
