Accounting Manager

Purpose:

Performs various complex accounting duties according to Dealership policy and accounting theory. Duties may include coordinating, preparing, and analyzing general ledger information and reports that provide summary information for management to use in making Dealership financial decisions. Represents the Accounting Department as the contact for accounting issues. Attracts, retains, and effectively engages department personnel. Provides excellent customer service for employees as well as customers and vendors.

Responsibilities:

• Prepares various daily, monthly, quarterly, or annual financial reports or statements
• Records routine or recurring transactions
• Gathers, reviews, and analyzes general ledger information
• Makes necessary corrections and/or adjustments to receive accurate report information
• Examines accounting information contained in reports and exhibits, traces and reconciles unusual variances
• Performs and/or oversees complex account reconciliations
• Helps maintain general ledger accounts
• Assists in overseeing monthly customer invoicing and accounts payable transactions to ensure accurate tax treatment, sales tax reporting and return preparation.
• Works closely with employees throughout the organization in all departments to answer accounting questions and resolve issues.
• Manages recruiting, staffing and employee development activities for employees reporting to this position

Experience, Education, Skills and Knowledge:

• 8+ years of comprehensive accounting experience with increasing levels of responsibility
• Proven ability to lead teams, manage priorities, and communicate effectively within all levels of the organization
• Exceptional leadership, organizational, and communication skills with the ability to influence, mentor, and drive results
• Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
• High level of attention to detail and accuracy
• Demonstrated expertise in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and Power BI, with the ability to create complex reports, analyze data, and improve processes
• Degree in Accounting/Finance discipline or equivalent experience
