Job Title: Accounting Associate
Job Summary
The Junior Accountant supports financial operations across multiple entities, with a strong focus on job
costing, transactional accounting, and project-level financial controls. This role works in close coordination
with leadership and project teams to ensure costs are accurately captured, reports are delivered on
schedule, and field activity is properly aligned with overall financial performance.
As a junior-level position, this role provides essential support in day-to-day financial operations, including
maintaining accurate financial records and producing timely, reliable reporting that supports informed
decision-making and ongoing company growth.
The ideal candidate is comfortable working within a multi-entity structure, maintains a high level of
confidentiality and professionalism when handling financial information, and brings a strong attention to
detail. Experience in the construction industry or a project-based environment is preferred.
Key Responsibilities
Transactional Accounting & Job Costing
• Process and enter daily financial transactions into the accounting system, including payroll
allocations and journal entries
• Ensure all transactions are properly coded to the correct general ledger accounts, jobs, and cost
codes
• Assist with tracking daily project costs by reviewing and recording labor, equipment usage, and
material expenses
• Support routine job cost updates to ensure project costs remain current and accurately
reflected in the system
Reconciliation & Reporting
• Perform regular (daily/weekly) cash and bank activity reviews to ensure transactions are
recorded accurately and timely
• Complete monthly bank and credit card reconciliations, ensuring all items are properly recorded
and supported
• Investigate and resolve any variances or unreconciled items in a timely manner
• Assist in the preparation of internal financial reports, providing clear and accurate information
to support management’s review of performance, cash position, and cost trends.
Period-End Close & Financial Support
• Support month-end and year-end close activities by ensuring all routine transactions are
entered and accounts are up to date
• Assist in preparing and posting month-end and year-end close journal entries, including accruals
and adjustments, to properly reflect period activity.
• Assist in maintaining Work-in-Progress (WIP) schedules by updating cost data and supporting
documentation
• Compile supporting schedules and backup documentation to substantiate account balances
• Ensure all records are complete, organized, and ready for review or audit
Working Conditions
• Onsite Requirement – this position is strictly onsite and must be performed in person at 190
Midstream Way, Jane Lew, WV 26378. Remote and hybrid work arrangements are not available
for this role.
• Work Schedule – this position follows a standard work schedule of Monday through Friday, 8:00
AM to 5:00 PM. May require extended hours during month-end or peak project periods.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications
• High school diploma or equivalent (Associate’s degree in accounting or finance preferred)
• 1–2 years of experience in general accounting and routine transactional processing
• Experience handling multiple entities or company divisions is highly desirable
• Basic knowledge of accounting principles and financial procedures
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel
• Experience with accounting software or ERP systems (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle, etc.)
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Solid organizational and time-management skills
• Demonstrated ability to maintain strict confidentiality and exercise integrity when handling
sensitive financial information
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience in the construction industry, including familiarity with job costing and percentage of
completion revenue recognition
• Experience with construction accounting software (e.g., Viewpoint Vista, HCSS, etc.)
• Experience in a fast-paced or high-volume processing environment
