Accountant II

Rogers Group, Inc., headquartered in Nashville, is a privately held aggregates and asphalt highway construction company operating in 13 states with over 3,500 employees. Rogers Group is currently seeking an Accountant II for our Alabama Division based in Huntsville, AL. This position reports to the Area Controller. The successful candidate will have a strong work ethic, intuitive problem- solving skills and the drive to meet ever evolving organizational needs. 

Job Responsibilities:

• Maintain/update/publish weekly & monthly financial reports and interactive dashboards.
• Perform, summarize, and distribute quantitative analysis of weekly reports.
• Assist in month-end accounting procedures and inventory management.
• Assist in analyzing job cost and forecast on construction projects.
• Assist in preparation of justification for capital expenditures.
• Assist in creation of annual business plan/forecast.
• Design and build analysis tools and new reporting as needed using MS Excel and data mining tools.

• Perform ad hoc analysis as needed by stakeholders throughout the market area.

Qualifications:

• Degree in Accounting or Finance, CPA preferred but not required.
• 2-3 years relevant work experience.
• Effective communication skills: written and inter-personal.
• Technical expertise in Microsoft Office suites (especially Excel).
• Highly self-motivated with a strong sense of ownership.
• Effective organizational skills to manage a dynamic workload.

• Business analytics/data mining experience preferred.
