Position Summary
The Workforce Analytics & Payroll Specialist is responsible for extracting, analyzing, and validating payroll and workforce data to support accurate payroll processing and informed business decisions. This position performs comprehensive biweekly payroll audits, develops recurring workforce and productivity reports—including physician RVU reporting, and provides timely analytics to Human Resources, Payroll, Finance, Operations, and Executive Leadership.
The ideal candidate possesses exceptional analytical skills, advanced Excel proficiency, outstanding attention to detail, and the ability to maintain the accuracy, integrity, and confidentiality of workforce information while supporting operational efficiency and regulatory compliance.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive biweekly audits of employee timesheets to ensure payroll accuracy prior to payroll processing.
- Review and validate employee time records, including missed punches, overtime, paid time off (PTO), unpaid leave, premium pay, meal periods, and payroll exceptions.
- Extract, compile, analyze, and validate workforce data from Paycom and other company systems.
- Generate and distribute recurring workforce reports on a daily, weekly, biweekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
- Prepare and distribute monthly physician RVU productivity reports and other provider productivity metrics.
- Develop custom reports and dashboards to support Human Resources, Payroll, Finance, Operations, and Executive Leadership.
- Identify data discrepancies, investigate variances, and coordinate timely corrections with managers and department leaders.
- Respond to ad hoc reporting requests by extracting, analyzing, and presenting workforce and payroll data.
- Maintain reporting calendars to ensure recurring reports are completed accurately and delivered on schedule.
- Recommend and implement improvements to reporting processes, data integrity, automation, and workflow efficiencies.
- Assist with HRIS maintenance, report development, testing, and data validation.
- Maintain confidential employee, payroll, physician, and organizational information in accordance with company policies and applicable regulations.
- Create and maintain documentation for reporting procedures, audit processes, and report definitions.
- Provide analytical support for special projects, strategic initiatives, and organizational planning.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience in payroll, HRIS reporting, workforce analytics, accounting, data management, or a related analytical field.
- Working knowledge of federal and Nevada employment laws affecting payroll and workforce reporting.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including Pivot Tables, XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP, IF statements, formulas, filtering, sorting, and data validation.
- Experience working with HRIS and payroll systems (Paycom experience preferred).
- Strong analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving abilities.
- Exceptional attention to detail with a high level of data accuracy.
- Ability to manage multiple recurring deadlines while prioritizing competing requests.
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Healthcare industry experience preferred.
