JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

Duties include reviewing and preparing, if necessary, multistate sales and use tax returns and other state and local miscellaneous tax returns.  Reviewing and preparing, if necessary, multistate property tax returns and valuations.  Reviewing property tax payments prior to remittance.  Estimating sales and use tax associated with major capital investment.  Preparing and reviewing schedules which provide budgeting and forecasting data related to property tax liabilities in future years.  Providing multistate tax guidance for contracts and purchases of materials and equipment.  Defending multistate sales and use tax audits, including the review and analysis of supporting documentation as well as supporting schedules related to audit findings.  Researching various state and local tax issues.  Monitoring and ensuring compliance with new tax laws and regulations.  Assisting with implementation of planning opportunities and process improvements.  Assist in responding to information requests from multiple regulatory commissions.  Familiarity with commonly utilized tax credits and incentives is a plus.  

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum education required of the position:

Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or related field

MBA or other advanced degree is a plus

Minimum Experience required of the position:

Tax Specialist, Sr Staff 8+ years of relevant work experience

Tax Accounting experience is a plus

Any certificates, licenses, etc. required for the position
CPA, JD, and/or CMI designation is a plus
