Tax Manager (Not for Profit)
Woodcliff Lake, NJ | New York, NY | Harrison, NY | Stamford, CT
We're seeking an experienced Tax Manager to work with a diverse portfolio of nonprofit organizations, including private foundations, public charities, educational institutions, and healthcare organizations. This role offers the opportunity to combine technical tax expertise with meaningful client advisory work while mentoring a growing team.
Qualities:
- 7+ years of public accounting experience focused on not-for-profit taxation.
- Active CPA or EA required (MST is a plus).
- Strong experience reviewing Forms 990, 990-PF, 990-T, and related tax filings.
- Knowledge of UBIT, exempt organization tax regulations, and nonprofit compliance.
- Strong leadership, communication, and client relationship skills.
- Ability to work in-office at least 3 days per week.
Responsibilities:
- Manage and review tax compliance for a variety of tax-exempt organizations.
- Advise clients on nonprofit tax matters, including UBIT, private foundation compliance, public support testing, and other complex issues.
- Research technical tax questions and develop practical solutions.
- Mentor and develop staff while managing multiple client engagements.
- Collaborate with clients and cross-functional teams to deliver exceptional service and identify planning opportunities.
