Tax Manager: UHNW/Private Client Services
New York, NY
We're looking for an experienced Tax Manager to advise ultra-high-net-worth individuals, families, and investment professionals on complex tax planning and compliance matters. This role offers the opportunity to build trusted client relationships, lead a team, and work on sophisticated tax strategies across private equity, hedge funds, and other investment structures.
Qualities:
- 7+ years of public accounting experience in Private Client Services, Family Office, or High-Net-Worth taxation.
- Active CPA or EA required (MST, JD, or LLM is a plus).
- Strong expertise in individual, partnership, trust, estate, and gift taxation.
- Experience working with hedge funds, private equity, investment partnerships, or family offices.
- Knowledge of foreign reporting requirements (FBAR, Forms 5471, 8938, 8621, etc.).
- Strong leadership, communication, and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to work in the New York City office at least 3 days per week.
Responsibilites:
- Advise high-net-worth individuals and investment professionals on tax planning, compliance, and consulting strategies.
- Review complex individual, partnership, trust, and related tax returns.
- Collaborate with clients and advisors to deliver proactive tax solutions.
- Mentor and develop staff while managing multiple client engagements.
- Stay current on tax law changes and identify planning opportunities that add value for clients.
