At PwC Ireland, you’ll be part of a purpose-driven organisation dedicated to building trust in society and solving our clients’ most complex challenges. Here, diverse teams collaborate across sectors and geographies to deliver innovative solutions that make a real difference. We invest in your growth through continuous learning, leadership development, and access to cutting-edge technology, empowering you to shape your career and impact the future of business and society. About the role: Our experienced Financial Services Tax team of 170 professionals, led by our 11 Partners, are experts in their respective fields, specialising in the dynamic and diverse world of Financial Services. The group works across the core areas of Asset & Wealth Management, Aviation Finance and the Core Corporate Group (servicing large Banking and Insurance clients) and provides tax compliance and advisory services to clients in areas such as investment fund strategies, aviation finance, treasury operations, insurance and real estate. We also have a dedicated team working on the opportunities in the Fintech sector, where there has been significant growth in recent years. We are a team that embraces change and are focused on using technology-based solutions to deliver an excellent client service. Our role is to bring tax solutions for our clients both locally and internationally, to fit with their commercial aims. Our clients include many of the leading domestic and multinational financial institutions. Our regular interactions with both Irish Revenue and the Department of Finance, as well as our connections with various industry bodies and the OECD working groups, enable us to be at the forefront of an ever changing and dynamic tax environment. Within each of the specialist areas of FS we offer a wealth of experience, learning and opportunities to assist you in developing your career. This role is focused on our Real Estate tax practice, where you will advise domestic and international investors, developers, fund managers and REITS on the tax aspects of Irish and European real estate transactions. You will work with some of the best FS Tax professionals both in PwC Ireland but also within our global network giving you a unique opportunity to collaborate with colleagues around the world and work not only on Irish tax issues but also on cross-border real estate transactions and structuring. Ireland has become an increasingly attractive jurisdiction for real estate investment, underpinned by a competitive corporate tax regime, an extensive double tax treaty network, and a well-regarded common law legal system. The Irish market offers a range of sophisticated investment structures, each with its own distinct tax framework. With Ireland positioning itself as a premier European domicile for cross-border real estate funds, the volume and complexity of tax advisory work in this space continues to grow. You will work with our clients on structuring real estate investments and funds, providing advice on the Irish tax aspects of property acquisitions, disposals and developments, advising on IREF and REIT tax obligations and identifying tax risks across domestic and cross-border transactions. You will also consider the impact of emerging trends such as ESG-driven investment, the evolving international landscape including Pillar Two and the interaction between planning and tax policy in the Irish property market. What you will do: As a Senior Manager in FS Tax, you’ll work as part of a team of problem solvers with extensive consulting and industry experience, helping our clients solve complex tax and broader business issues from strategy to execution. Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to: Managing and growing your own challenging, evolving and varied client portfolio, including leading existing client engagements, winning and developing work, and driving a pipeline of consultancy and tax planning projects. Discussing potential innovative projects with our clients, bringing strategic insight linked to economic, business and technical reality in order to help them to grow in the market. Proactively monitoring OECD and EU Tax developments and bringing these to our clients in a meaningful way for their business. Expanding your professional network and managing client relationships in order to develop business opportunities with innovative companies. Playing an active role in training and coaching our junior staff members, promoting a learning culture. Bringing business knowledge, innovation and insight to create value for clients and the firm, and contributing to thought leadership. Embracing the digital evolution in our business and at clients, championing new technologies and driving their adoption across our day-to-day business and that of our clients. Operating and collaborating effectively with a mindset that transcends geographic and cultural boundaries. Motivating your team to perform at their best, make a difference and deliver results, while providing mentorship and guidance allowing them to stretch to their full potential. Working on attracting, developing and retaining the best talent for the firm.
