Staff Accountant

Reports To: Controller

Overview

The Fountainhead Group is seeking a Staff Accountant to support the company’s accounting and financial reporting functions by maintaining accurate financial records, preparing journal entries and account reconciliations, assisting with month-end and year-end closings, and ensuring compliance with established accounting policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and record journal entries, accruals, and general ledger transactions.
• Perform monthly balance sheet account reconciliations and investigate discrepancies.
• Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities.
• Support the preparation of monthly financial statements and management reports.
• Reconcile bank accounts and monitor cash-related transactions.
• Assist with accounts payable, accounts receivable, and intercompany accounting activities as needed.
• Support inventory accounting, cost accounting, and manufacturing variance analysis.
• Assist with annual audits and requests from external accounting firm.
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, internal controls, and reporting efficiency.
• Collaborate with Purchasing, Operations, Human Resources, and other departments to resolve accounting issues and improve financial data accuracy.
• Maintain the fixed asset register, record additions and disposals, and calculate depreciation.
• Perform other accounting and financial duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
• Minimum of three years of accounting experience.
• Experience in a manufacturing environment.

The Staff Accountant proactively identifies and resolves discrepancies, maintains strong internal controls, and continuously looks for ways to improve accounting processes and reporting efficiency.
