Job Description
Our client is seeking a Staff Accountant with 2–5 years of corporate or public accounting experience. This role will support general accounting functions, month-end close, accounts payable, fixed assets, audits, and financial reporting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support general ledger accounting, cash receipts, cash disbursements, capital, payroll, and other accounting functions.
- Assist with monthly and annual financial statement close.
- Prepare journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Process transactions within the accounting ERP system.
- Apply U.S. GAAP to accounting activities.
- Assist with year-end audit preparation and auditor requests.
- Research and resolve accounting questions and issues.
- Administer the purchasing card program and employee expense reimbursements.
- Process weekly and periodic payment runs.
- Enter and process accounts payable invoices and vouchers.
- Review invoices for proper documentation, approval, coding, and payment.
- Monitor and respond to the shared accounts payable mailbox.
- Maintain fixed asset records, including additions, disposals, and depreciation.
- Assist with accounting research, audit support, compliance requests, and other departmental needs.
- Communicate with vendors regarding invoices and past-due balances.
- Support ongoing process and professional development.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required.
- 2–5 years of corporate or public accounting experience required.
- Public accounting, audit, tax, or private accounting experience preferred.
- CPA or CPA track preferred, but not required.
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to learn accounting processes and systems.
Technology
- Experience with an ERP system required.
- Oracle PeopleSoft and Oracle EPM experience preferred.
- Experience with other major ERP systems such as SAP or NetSuite is a plus.
- Microsoft Excel experience preferred.
