Position: Staff Accountant
Location: Indianapolis, IN 46202
Client: State of Indiana
Duration: 12+ Months
Job Description:
We are seeking a Staff Accountant to assist in maintaining the general ledger and support accounts payable and payroll functions. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting principles and excellent analytical skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare standard journal entries and sales reports
- Reconcile Federal Income Withholding Tax and balance sheet accounts
- Process wire requests for commissions payments
- Act as a backup for Accounts Payable processing
- Utilize knowledge of GAAP and computerized accounting systems
Required Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field
- 2+ years of experience in accounting or financial management
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
- Strong numeracy and analytical skills
- Experience with Federal Income Withholding tax documents is a plus
