Position Summary: 

Responsible for ensuring timely and accurate completion of assigned daily and monthly account reconciliations, including the Federal Reserve Bank account. Prepare and process daily, weekly and monthly journal entries to support the month-end and quarter-end financial close process and provide support for Accounting Operations functions, including fixed asset and investment securities accounting. Maintain documentation on the proper reconciliation process and workflow for each assigned account, journal entry and Accounting Operations support functions. Work with subject matter experts to clear outstanding reconciling items and gather required information and supporting documentation for all journal entries. 

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; continued education through seminars, etc. 

Minimum one (1) year of accounting and reconciliation experience with adequate knowledge of general accounting (debits vs. credits) and ability to verify correctness and completeness of information; excellent analytical, mathematical, verbal and written communication, problem solving, and interpersonal relations skills; adept and using Excel and general computer applications; high level of organization and attention to detail; self-motivated, resourceful and ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Essential Duties:

Prepare accurate and timely reconcilements of various general ledger and internal demand deposit accounts (DDA), as assigned. 

Collaborate with various departments to research and resolve differences and outstanding items timely and accurately; develop and maintain ongoing escalation process to ensure timely resolution on exceptions; implement and monitor regular reporting of activity and outstanding exceptions for month end, quarter end, and year end.

Responsible for the identification, accounting and reporting of information related to the reconciliations performed. 

Ensure efficiencies to meet schedules and deadlines; develop procedures for new reconcilement functions and conduct regular reviews of related procedures for existing processes. 

Prepare and process assigned journal entries timely and accurately to support the month-end and quarter-end financial close processes.

Provide backup and support for the monthly fixed asset accounting process.

Provide support for the daily, weekly and monthly investment securities accounting process.

Provide required documentation and maintain appropriate source documents and other related records for all account reconciliations and journal entries processed in support of Sarbanes-Oxley compliance. 

Abide by the current laws and organizational policies and procedures designed and implemented to promote an environment that is free of sexual harassment and other forms of illegal discriminatory behavior in the workplace;

Support risk management practices and overall safety and soundness and the Bank’s compliance with all regulatory requirements.

Ensure that the department and all personnel adhere to the same; perform tasks that are supportive in nature to the essential functions of the job which may be altered or redesigned depending on individual circumstances. 

Attend regularly scheduled coaching and counseling sessions held by supervisor to achieve the outcome of improved communication, action plan development, positive feedback and performance improvement.

Perform other duties as assigned or directed.
