Sourcing & Procurement Intern

The intern will work closely with sourcing specialists, procurement analysts, category managers, and business stakeholders to support active projects while developing foundational procurement and business skills.
This internship is designed for students interested in careers in procurement, supply chain, finance, business analytics, operations, or related fields
Accountabilities may include any of the following depending on organizational needs.
Procurement Project Support
- Assist sourcing professionals with strategic sourcing initiatives and supplier engagements.
- Support preparation of RFIs, RFPs, supplier communications, and proposal evaluations.
- Conduct market research on suppliers, industries, and emerging trends.
- Gather and organize documentation required throughout the sourcing process.
Spend Analytics & Data Insights
- Analyze procurement and supplier spend data to identify trends, opportunities, and risks.
- Develop reports, dashboards, and presentations to communicate findings.
- Support business case development and cost savings analyses.
- Assist in maintaining procurement metrics and performance reporting.
Supplier Management
- Support supplier performance and relationship management activities.
- Assist in collecting and analyzing supplier scorecard information.
- Participate in supplier meetings and document key discussion points and action items.
- Help maintain supplier records and procurement documentation.
Risk & Compliance Support
- Assist with third-party risk management and due diligence activities.
- Review procurement documentation for completeness and compliance with company policies.
- Support tracking of supplier assessments, renewal activities, and contract milestones.
- Learn and apply procurement governance and risk management practices.
Process Improvement
- Identify opportunities to improve procurement workflows and stakeholder experience.
- Document procedures, job aids, and best practices.
- Support initiatives focused on automation, digital tools, and operational efficiency.
- Participate in continuous improvement projects within the procurement organization.
Stakeholder Engagement
- Partner with internal business teams to understand procurement needs and priorities.
- Support preparation of presentations and communications for leadership and stakeholders.
- Attend team meetings, project discussions, and training sessions.
- Build effective working relationships across Procurement, Finance, Legal, Risk, and Technology teams.
Must be currently seeking a baccalaureate, masters, or doctoral degree and be enrolled in an accredited college or university on a full-time basis or as required by the university's co-op program. • Must have achieved 24 semester hours of academic credit before beginning the first work term. At times, sessions may be delivered virtually based on scheduling and availability.
