Position Summary
The Site Strategic Procurement Specialist is responsible for executing the long-term sourcing strategy for the WSS manufacturing site and supporting branch procurement activities across the region. This role drives cost optimization, supplier performance, contract management, and data-driven decision making while ensuring alignment with Xylem’s global category strategies. The specialist will build and maintain a resilient, compliant, and cost-effective supply base and serve as the site representative for the rollout and adoption of new ERP tools.
In addition, this position requires strong analytical capabilities to support site and branch performance management, including development and maintenance of procurement dashboards, KPI reporting, spend analysis, and supply chain performance metrics utilizing SAP S/4HANA, Power BI, and advanced Excel tools such as Pivot Tables and query-based reporting. Approximately 25% travel is expected to support supplier engagement, site collaboration, branch support, and project execution.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Sourcing & Supplier Management
- Develop, maintain, and execute the site-level sourcing strategy aligned with global category management and Xylem’s Operations Procurement objectives.
- Support branch procurement teams with strategic sourcing initiatives, supplier performance improvement, and supply continuity activities.
- Conduct supplier selection, RFx events, and negotiations for strategic, high-value categories in conjunction with Category Managers.
- Develop and maintain supplier performance management, including QBRs, scorecards, corrective actions, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Build risk-mitigated dual-source strategies and ensure supply continuity.
- Own strategic supplier relationships and act as primary escalation point for quality, delivery, or commercial issues.
Cost Management, Analytics & Value Engineering
- Drive cost-reduction programs, VA/VE initiatives, and landed cost optimization supporting XGP goals.
- Analyze total cost of ownership (TCO) and leverage SAP data for cost modeling.
- Develop, maintain, and present procurement dashboards and KPI reports to support both site and branch operations.
- Utilize SAP S/4HANA, Power BI, and advanced Excel capabilities (Pivot Tables, Power Query, formulas, and report generation) to provide insights into spend, supplier performance, inventory trends, and sourcing opportunities.
- Partner with Engineering, Operations, and Finance to support product localization, make-versus-buy, and design-to-value projects.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, or Engineering (APICS/ASCM certification preferred) or equivalent Xylem/Evoqua years of relevant experience.
- 3-5+ years in strategic procurement, preferably in manufacturing or industrial sectors.
- Advanced proficiency in SAP S/4HANA, Power BI, and Excel, including Pivot Tables, formulas, Power Query, and dashboard development.
- Strong procurement analytics, negotiation expertise, and supplier management experience.
- Ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders and communicate analytical findings effectively.
