We are seeking an experienced and analytically driven Site Controller to lead the financial oversight, profitability and performance of our Hirson (France) production site. This role involves close collaboration with various departments to develop budgets and contribute to the broader financial strategy of the company. The Site Controller will be responsible for establishing and monitoring standard costing, and for delivering key performance indicators (KPIs) to production teams to drive operational efficiency.
Key responsibilities:
Reporting & Analytics
Lead monthly site closing and reporting in collaboration with accounting, ensuring accurate financial statements and group-level reports.
Develop and maintain dashboards to monitor key operational flows (Purchasing, Production, Sales) and financial KPIs.
Analyze cost structures, operating margins, and variances across budgets, forecasts, and actuals; implement corrective actions as needed.
Monitor and ensure compliance with budgets (CAPEX, overheads), provisions, and headcount planning.
Support strategic decision-making through performance analysis, forecasting, and regular reporting to management.
Standard Costing & Budget
Establish and maintain standard costing in SAP, monitoring gaps vs real cost monthly.
Monitor budgets for the Group's various entities, in line with the objectives set by his or her superiors
Carry out costing of estimates, according to scope
Create and update internal orders for investments (internal software)
Inventory & Asset Control
Coordinate and execute bi-annual physical inventories and weekly spot checks, ensuring accuracy between theoretical and actual stock levels.
Investigate discrepancies and implement corrective action plans.
Monitor and maintain records of fixed assets to ensure proper tracking and compliance.
Technical & Regulatory Reporting
Support sales negotiations by providing margin analysis and validating product data (e.g., BOM sheets).
Ensure compliance with legal reporting requirements (INSEE, Intracom) and support statutory audits.
Monitor intra-community declarations and maintain accurate technical and financial documentation.
Our requirements:
Bachelor’s or master’s degree in finance, accounting, or a related field
Ideally 4+ years of experience in financial controlling within industrial sectors
Strong analytical skills with mastery of management control methods, cost analysis, and group procedures
Good understanding of accounting principles, product lifecycle costing in industrial environments, and cross-functional business operations
Ability to validate technical data (e.g., BOMs) and support margin analysis for sales negotiations
Fluent in French and English (spoken and written); additional languages are a plus
Reliable, hands-on professional with a proactive mindset and excellent interpersonal skills
