Position:
Controller, DiSTI Corporation (Orlando, FL).
Reporting:
This position reports to the Chief Executive Officer and has dotted line, direct access to and from the Board of Directors.
Responsibilities:
The primary priority for the Controller / VP of Finance will be to immediately assume the senior finance responsibilities and to maintain and grow the Company’s (i) finance organization and (ii) business processes and infrastructure capable of supporting the Company’s continued growth expectations. This includes direct responsibility for accounting, finance, tax, treasury, HR, benefits, insurance and payroll. Moreover, the Controller / VP of Finance is expected to:
- Support the CEO, Board and senior management in achieving strategic and financial goals; proactively identify and implement required systems and processes to support rapid business growth without introducing undue bureaucracy;
- Continue to conform all current and future DiSTI accounting and financial practices to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP);
- Own the Company’s government-contracting accounting infrastructure, including indirect and provisional billing-rate development and monitoring, the annual incurred-cost submission, and segregation of unallowable costs; serve as the primary finance liaison for DCAA and DCMA audits;
- Reinforce a metrics-based culture, transparency and business clarity across all functions within the Company; benchmark operational and financial systems “best practices”; and develop and implement appropriate systems and procedures;
- Ensure the appropriate operational, business performance and sales measures are in place to capture and analyze financial information on the operations of the Company, and generate relevant reports to all levels of Company management;
- Coach senior and middle managers in driving financial discipline and in optimizing the positive aspects of the Company’s current systems and culture while pursuing upgrades in key areas of financial management and reporting;
- Allocate capital and resources efficiently, and set a cultural tone which infuses/re-enforces an accountability and ownership mentality into the DNA of all employees, vendors and other relevant constituents;
- Prepare Board packages and present period financial performance to the Board of Directors;
- Provide the structure, processes and standards for first-class financial/information systems across the Company, including as related to the integration of acquisitions and the financial interactions with current and future partners;
- Assure a pro-active integrated, disciplined, and “no surprises” approach to running the business;
- Manage banking relationships, working to enhance the Company’s visibility and credibility;
- Assist in corporate development activities including structuring customer and distribution relationships, preparing pricing and business model proposals (royalty rates, subscription vs purchase and maintenance models, etc), and acquisitions / divestitures;
- Manage the availability of funds to meet the Company’s operating requirements; establish rapport with the Company’s customers to facilitate effective credit management;
- Manage and communicate capital and liquidity requirements/ implications of business decisions to senior management, functional executives and private equity sponsors; develop liquidity analyses and cash flow projections;
- Build teamwork across the business; interact effectively with other parts of the Company; become a trusted thought partner for objective business guidance with the leadership team;
- Coordinate and manage the financial, inventory and tax audit annually, working with the auditors to ensure that financials are GAAP compliant.
Ideal Experience:
With at least 10 years of financial experience, the successful candidate will ideally have experience in a private equity-backed company and understand the dynamics of value creation this connotes.
- Government-contract accounting across a mixed contract base including firm-fixed-price, time-and-materials, and cost-plus.
- DCAA compliance; familiarity with FAR/CAS, incurred-cost, and indirect-rate/cost-pool structures.
- Experience with Deltek Costpoint (the company's ERP) and PowerBI (the company’s dashboard/reporting system).
- Premium on those who have consolidated and optimized financial analysis and operational performance during a period of rapid expansion;
- Hands-on experience in all areas of financial operations including financial planning and analysis, treasury and banking, systems and processes;
- Must have strong leadership and people management skills, and be able to point to his/her development of strong teams and individual performers historically;
- A command of and comfort with technology and information systems - has the proven ability to manage an information-driven business as it scales;
- Must be data-driven and intellectually curious;
- Excellent communicator with experience conveying complex issues to broad audience of varying skill sets;
- Will have experience working within a culture of thoughtful and passionate executives and employees;
- BS in Accounting or Finance; CPA, MBA preferred;
- Experience integrating financial systems with CRM systems.

Highly attractive compensation package that includes a competitive annual base salary, a performance-based incentive bonus commensurate with experience, and significant equity potential which will scale in proportion to the value implied by the successful candidate.
