Job Title

Senior Risk Analyst - Fund Risk, Baillie Gifford Europe

Department

Operations Dublin-International-Ireland

Overview of Department

Baillie Gifford Investment Management Europe Limited (“BGE”) is an Irish-authorised UCITS Management Company and Alternative Investment Fund Manager based in Dublin, and part of the wider Baillie Gifford Group (“Group”).

Purpose of Role

Reporting to BGE's Risk and Compliance Officer ("RCO"), you will work with colleagues in BGE and the wider Group Business Risk team. This is a broad, hands-on role combining oversight of BGE's fund risk managerial function with analytical, reporting and improvement work across Group Business Risk.
You will be responsible for the day-to-day monitoring and oversight of BGE’s fund-risk management arrangements. You will ensure that relevant risks are identified, measured, monitored, challenged, escalated and reported through an effective framework of governance, policies, risk profiles, limits and controls.
Supported by the RCO and colleagues across Group Business Risk, you will form an independent view of the risks within BGE's funds, critically assess information received from delegates and service providers, and provide clear reporting to the BGE Board and relevant Fund Boards.
Alongside these regulated responsibilities, you will contribute to broader Group Business Risk work. The role includes hands-on analysis and defined projects, providing scope to build wider risk experience while retaining clear accountability for BGE's fund risk responsibilities.
The successful candidate will be proposed as BGE’s Designated Person with responsibility for Fund Risk Management (“PCF-39C”), subject to the prior approval of the Central Bank of Ireland. Previous PCF approval is not essential, and the role may suit an experienced fund-risk professional who is ready to take on their first PCF appointment.
Appointment to this role is subject to the Central Bank of Ireland’s Fitness and Probity approval process and the candidate meeting BGE’s internal due diligence requirements.
